The client keeps constantly updating upon start up and then asks that you restart. It keeps constantly adding in PSOBB.pat and then restarts, and then on start up, it starts patching it again. This client is glitched, and it's not just me. This has happened to MULTIPLE clients I've gotten from you guys and Im not quitting this server just because you guys cant get a Client correctly.

This is a note to all of you guys, it may or may not keep patching. We need a new client, w/o a doubt though.

Current working exe.

You may need to delete the existing PSOBB.exe as the file does not have the same name.

old exe name is: PSOBB.exe
new exe name is: psobb.exe

Then start with start game through online.exe with the start game option once, let the game patch to get past an infinite patch loop.

Create shortcut to the new psobb.exe on your desktop.

Play as normal.

If that still does not work.....

Make sure you are running as an administrator.

Try cleaning your registry.

Restarting your computer.

Power cycling your router.

Putting your entire psobb folder on the allow list, exceptions, white list whatever your anti virus software calls it.

Hamachi and game booster are known to cause issues with psobb due to blocking off certain features in windows.

chokoserver.ath.cx is no longer used. You don't need to edit the hosts file. It was only suggested as a work around until the later client was released. The client contains the host data.

All people need to bear in mind is that when there are any updates to the client, launch the game via online.exe until all patches have been applied. You can then use psobb.exe if you like.

Patch loops can also occur if the client doesn't have write access to the psobb folder. So ensure that you run PSOBB as an administrator.

The game still refuses to get past the error 903 after whitelisting the whole folder everywhere I could and turning off Hamachi. Help?

If the error appears instantly it'll be caused by the wrong client being used. If it is appearing after some time it'll be connectivity issues.

If you are using wireless can you try using Ethernet to rule out wireless issues?
Having not used Hamachi in a very long time I'm not too sure how it integrates with your network configuration. Other people have found success by completely removing Hamachi.

Ouch, well I already use ethernet so I guess the problem's Hamachi. Guess I'll leave the server alone for now.
