As of 3/24/2012, PSOBB Eden now has a rank system. There are three ranks, normal, advanced, and elite. To achieve the next rank, you must first reach level 200 of your current rank. You will then be able to use the new solo quest in episode 1, "Player Rank Up" (found at the bottom of the side solo quest menu) to move up to the next rank. What does this mean for you?

Your experience level will be reset to 1.
Your experience earned will reset to 0.
All of your materials will be reset, except for HP, TP, and luck materials.
You will retain all items and spells/spell levels.

If you are advanced, your XP rate will be 2x all the way to level 200.
If you are elite, your xp rate will be 1x all the way to level 200.

If you reach level 200 of the advanced or elite ranks, you may even find yourself being awarded with some very special items!

Essentially, a level cap of 600.

Nice system, never seen it before on PSOBB.

Bit late for some of us as it is! We're having no troubles with it so far, and we're just having a good time with it.

I would have to agree with the mat reset part. You've already reached 200, so a reset to lvl one with mats seems fair, but thats just us.

Also, is it x2 exp? or is it 2x on top of the 5x?

You don't have to rank up if you don't want to. I can't see how the EXP rates are nerfed (that would mean that Sega's and SCHT's 1x exp was/is completely nerfed :S). Casual players are likely to stick at the normal rank. Players that want a challenge are likely to rank up.

If you don't like to grind... well its a RPG. So I'm not sure what to say...

There wouldn't be much of a challenge if you could level up to 200 at elite rank the same as normal.

The exp rate is as follows:
Normal : 5x gradually dropping to 2x.
Advanced : 2x through out.
Elite : 1x through out.

Mats are easy enough to find also. The only reason TP's aren't cleared is due to how rare they are on Eden (it was then decided to keep the HP mats also).

lol rather intelligent idea since it's easy to break the lvl cap and just level past 200 anyway. why reset levels when you could just level past 200.

You are funny some times... Your way of thinking is just special. We didn't want to go over level 200... We wanted a ranking system...

Why not?
It offers a challenge, another start, it's optional, doesn't require an expanded exp table and stat increase (which would require harder mobs only for those who actually wanted to rank up) and if not a stat increase, what is the point of a cap increase?

This makes the current endgame far less stagnated, makes leveling on Eden more rewarding, gives some rewards and definition and is an original feature as far as PSO is concerned.
@ Material comments - the only one worth mentioning is luck, and, yet again; it's optional. If you don't like it don't rank up it really is that plain and simple.

Personally, I'll be fine with just hitting 200 once.
