Ok I have explained this in game for the lost count time now.
So I am just going to put this topic up so those of you still not understanding it can review it at your leisure.
This is how drops work. in this example we will use the standard drop rate for most rares
1
----
317
To win the rare both events must be won.
1st event the coin toss.
(Commonly referred to as DAR or Drop Anything Rate.)
Upon each enemies death a coin is tossed
If it lands on heads event 2 will happen a die roll and something will drop.
If it lands on tails it will drop nothing. As landing on tails = no die will be rolled and event 2 will not take place
All the prizes are on the die the coin toss is to determine weather or not the die will be rolled.
A coin has 2 sides so it is a 50% chance of landing on heads or tails.
However in DAR case the varying %'s of DAR = the amount of times the coin will land on heads out of 100 attempts (on average).
2nd event the die roll.
If the coin toss was a success and landed on heads event 2 takes place a die will be rolled.
Using our example rate lets break down what that means
1 = The number of wins or rare will drop sides of the die
----
317 = The number of sides on the die
So basically when the die is rolled you are rolling a 317 sided die with only 1 side of the die that says drop the rare. All the other sides of the die will contain various other items such as tool drops weapon drops armor drops pd drops ect. Whatever side the die lands on is what will drop.
Special rules exclusive to eden.
Drop rate penalties and boosts.
If playing by yourself you may notice less rares dropping that is because here on eden we have a little system in place to encourage you to team up and play together.
If playing alone the number of sides on the die for every drop rate are increased by 20%
so if we take our example of
Example
1 = The number of wins or rare will drop sides of the die
----
317 = The number of sides on the die
It will now look like this for solo play.
1 = The number of wins or rare will drop sides of the die
----
380 = The number of sides on the die
If playing with 2 the number of sides on the die for every drop rate are increased by 10%
1 = The number of wins or rare will drop sides of the die
----
348 = The number of sides on the die
If playing with 3 the number of sides on the die remain what is listed.
1 = The number of wins or rare will drop sides of the die
----
317 = The number of sides on the die
If playing with 4 the number of sides on the die for every drop rate are decreased by 10%
1 = The number of wins or rare will drop sides of the die
----
286 = The number of sides on the die
In the case of 4 or less people on line then the rates are as if for 3 people are in your game.
1 = The number of wins or rare will drop sides of the die
----
317 = The number of sides on the die
Unless all 4 of you who are the only ones on are playing together
1 = The number of wins or rare will drop sides of the die
----
286 = The number of sides on the die
After the 5th or more person is on line in game drop penalties will be applied as listed above.
Now for a little info about which id is the active one.
